The Research On Regional Comprehensive Economic Strength Of Guangzhou

Regional comprehensive economic strength, which reflects the economic strength of a region in the competition, is the important basement of regional comprehensive competitiveness and the significant sign to measure the level of regional economic development. It contains five aspects:the economic gross scale, the economic quality power, the economic innovation ability, the economic influence and the economic development potential.This paper mainly analyze the develop trends of Guangzhou regional comprehensive economic strength and the relative level of Guangzhou in our country. This paper analyze Guangzhou regional comprehensive economic strength from three aspects:first, the comparative analysis between Guangzhou and the major cities of China, second, the comparative analysis of Guangzhou and the other cities in Guangdong province, third, the comparative analysis about the 12 districts of Guangzhou. We use stratified analyzing method, principal component analysis, entropy method, and fuzzy Borda method to calculate the regional comprehensive economic strength index of Guangzhou and the major cities of China, by building a regional comprehensive economic strength evaluation index system.We find that the regional comprehensive economic strength of Shenzhen, Tianjin is better than Guangzhou, Guangzhou is not the No.3 of China any more.This paper use spatial statistical snalysis mothod to analyze the relationship of economic development between Guangzhou and the other cities in Guangdong province and find that thereis a big develop difference of the Guangdong cities, Pearl river delta area has a developed economy, the east and the west areas economy is slow developing, the develop trend of Guangdong province shows a important conclusion that Guangzhou is still the center of Guangdong, and the east, west and north cities are gradient developing. The economic development positive correlation between Guangzhou and its surrounding cities shows that the development of Guangzhou can promote the development of surrounding cities.By establishing the comprehensive economic strength evaluation index system, we analyze the comprehensive economic strength of Guangzhou 12 districts. Following the contribution analysis and cluster analysis, we find that Yuexiu and Tianhe are still the most powerful areas in the 12 districts of Guangzhou, and the new district Luogang has been another main driving force to enhance the regional comprehensive economic strength of Guangzhou.Finally, this paper made several suggestions for the Guangzhou government to make the decision which can further enhance the regional comprehensive economic strength of Guangzhou, on the basis of the problem in the development of Duangzhou regional comprehensive economic strength.
