The Research On Woody Forest Products Intra-industry Trade Between China And Greater Mekong Subregion

With the development of Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) cooperation into the twentieth year, the ties betweenChina and GMS have been intensified.As an important part of trade; the intra-industry trade (IIT) of woody forest products (WFP) has made corresponding progress. This paper makes an overview of WFP IIT between China and GMS; use IIT index to measure the level between two sides from an comprehensive angle; on this basis,from the theoretical and empirical perspectives, this paper tries to find the factors that influence the level of WFP IIT between China and GMS, and get such conclusions:although the WFP IIT has made more development between both sides in these years, the level is still low; vertical IIT makes far more contributions; the level of some WFP IIT such as plywood, furniture, paper and paperboard is higher than logs, lumber and sawn wood. As a senior way of trade,WFP IIT between China and GMS has been influenced by major factors as follows; the resource endowments; the income levels.infrastructure like transportation and so on.To achieve a "win-win situation", both sides need to take a more realistic and more flexible measures to overcome the obstacles on WFP trade.Ⅱ...
