Analysis On The Influence Of The Greater Mekong Subregion Cooperation On The Import And Export Trade Structure And Trade Volume Of Yunnan Province

Since Greater Mekong Subregion cooperation mechanism was established,the Greater Mekong Basin has always been a hot spot region attracting worldwide attention.With the accelerating development of economic globalization,the cooperation between China and other Greater Mekong Subregion has expanded and deepened.Especially in the light of the appeal to “the Belt and Road”,there has been a better foundation for Greater Mekong Subregion cooperating mutually and stronger market demand.As the bridgehead for trade between China and Southeast Asia,Yunnan province,through involving in this cooperation,can achieve the continuously rapid increase in trade volume when transacting with Subregion countries,which can beneficially promote its overall economic growth as well as upgrading and adjustment of industrial structure.This paper,by analyzing the fluctuation oft trade volume between Yunnan and subregion countries,comes to several conclusions.First,with the complementary effect,Yunnan could actively develop the relatively competitive industries,which can strongly drive the mutual development of foreign trade.Second,since Yunnan's openness to other nations in this Greater area largely improves,it has witness a greater increase in trade volume,a rising demand for external markets and resources.Third,there exists a significant correlation between Yunnan's economic growth and mutual trade's surge,it has a powerful pull that Yunnan participates in this cooperation mechanism.Moreover,in the empirical part,this paper evaluates factors which have effects on bilateral trade by gravity model.The result is that geographical distances have negative impact on bilateral trade,while politics has positive one.Finally,based on the analytical result,the corresponding and practical solutions are given for Yunnan better involving in this Greater Mekong Subregion economic cooperation,better making use of this beneficial policy to actively engage in foreign trade,better being open to develop economics.
