Research On Tourism Ecological Security In Wuhan City

In order to create "resources-consuming, environment friendly" society, Hubei provincial government put forward to establish Wuhan "1+8 urban agglomeration" and drive eight surrounding cities to develop based on Wuhan. With the advancement of this idea, the tourism industry in Wuhan has been paid more attention and developed. The number of foreign tourists in Wuhan increased greatly from 551.000 in 2003 to 669.000 in 2009, domestic tourists was 20.985 million in the year of 2003 and roared to 63.599 million in 2009, the total tourism industry income broke through 5000 billion yuan. However, at the back of vast economic benefit, the conflicts between resources, environment and population emerged at the same time, the negative effect of tourism industry on environment of the tourist destination has become the key factor to stifle tourism development in Wuhan city.Ecological security is a new concept which comes from environmental security theory and is usually used to evaluate the ecological safety of land, water resources and city. The research on ecological safety evaluation of tourist destination merely limits major attractions. This thesis bases on the theory and methods of ecological security and establishes the index system of tourism ecological security evaluation, meanwhile considers the present situation and features of tourism development in Wuhan city and takes Wuhan city for example to proceed the empirical study. The text can be divided into six parts:The first part introduces the background and meanings of this thesis, summarizes the main content, methods, aim, tech-path and feasibility analysis; The second part researches connotation of tourism ecological security, further studies the definition, characteristics and affecting factors; The third part studies the evaluation of tourism ecological security, analyzes the definition and builds up the system of tourism ecological security evaluation, makes clear the indexes and threshold values; The forth part takes Wuhan city for example, describes the present situation and existing problems in Wuhan city, perfects "P-S-R" model and establish the index system, and then finds the restricting factors, what's more, analyzes tourism industry in Wuhan from 2004 to 2009; The fifth part finally offers strategies and suggestions to develop tourism industry in Wuhan city; The last part is conclusion。...
