The Research On The Choice Of Xinjiang Leading Industry

The upgrading of industrial structure is the driving force and performance of economic development, while leading industry's replacement is the way of upgrading of industrial structure. The leading industry which is the first to carry on the technical renewal and to transform effectively into productive force can satisfy the large increasing demand, and diffuse the superiority to the related industry through the forward connection, the backward connection and the side connection, thus promoting the upgrading of industrial structure and fueling economic growth. Firstly, this article reviews literature search related on the leading industry, and then analyzes Xinjiang industrial structure's characteristic, benefit and the relation between Xinjiang industrial structure and economic growth. Secondly, this article defines the concept of leading industry and the choice's criteria of Xinjiang leading industry. According to thrice industry's characteristics and the available data, the author structures different index system and uses different method to research the leading industry choice. This article uses the grey cluster method to choose Xinjiang primary industry leading industry, the factor analysis method to choose Xinjiang industry leading industry,the shift-share-method to choose Xinjiang tertiary industry leading industry. It obtains that the primary industry leading industry is cotton industry, the fruit industry and the animal husbandry; the industry leading industry is the electrical machinery and the equipment manufacturing industry, the chemical industry, the metal smelting and rolling processing industry, food manufacture and the tobacco processing industry, the coal mining and washing industry; the tertiary industry leading industry is the wholesale and retail trade, the financial industry and the real estate industry. Finally, according to the index analysis result the author puts forward countermeasures on leading industries' development proposes in the primary industry and the tertiary industry, and emphatically on cultivating Xinjiang industry leading industry from the exterior restraint environment and oneself development.
