Land use and Land cover change (LUCC) is the most significant aspect in the research field of globe environmental changing. City is the most important area in the research field of LUCC. Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan urban agglomerations are the "Duel-model Society" construction area in the whole country, moreover, They are the lead areas of construction of new industrialization and urbanization in Hunan province. As the further development of Changsha-Zhuzhou Xiangtan urban agglomerations, the structure of land use has been chagned obviously. So this paper will research land use and land cover change of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan urban agglomerations core area by using the Landsat TM remote sensing images, the Geographical Spatial analysis technique and the Geo-Information Tupu methodology. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) The spectrum information, texture information and the elevation information are used in the remote sensing images classification. the result show that the classification accuracy based on the CART and Support Vector Machine is improve. The overall accuracy can reach more than 80% and improve around 6% than the original image.(2) In order to determine the kernel function parameters in the process of Support Vector Machine, this paper will estimate the optimal kernel function parameters by using cross validation technique of Grid model in LibSVM 3.0 tool. It can achieve the best the classification accury of training sample sets, thereby improving Support Vector Machine classification efficiency.(3) Based on the Geo-Information Tupu methodology and Tupu Model on land use, this paper will research land use and land cover change of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan urban agglomerations core area from 1993 to 2006:during the monitoring, construction land maintain a rapid growth state in the four various temporal units, new increase rate far outweigh the transfer rate, its dynamic degree is active. The land use patterns have become urbanization, industrialization and infrastructure. Although the area of forest land, farm land and water appear fluctuation state in the four various temporal units, on the whole, the state shows the falling tread, the stability of them have become higher, and their dynamic degree has become weaker. Among them, the area of forest land and farm land has dominated the great advantage in the research area, they are the main source of the other new increase area. The area of bare land appears fluctuation state in the four various temporal units, on the whole, the state shows the falling tread, its dynamic degree has become higher, and the the stability has become weaker. It is the main source of the other new increase area, and its development and utilization degree is the highest in the research area.(4) The Tupu Model on land use and land cover change in study area showed that the ways of development depended on agriculture in changsha-zhuzhou-xiangtan urban agglomeration in the 1990s, but the development of urbanization, industrialization was slower. In the 21st century, the structure of land use has been chagned obviously, construction land was developed rapidly, the ways of development has been completely changed, the development mode has become new-style urbanization, industrialization and infrastructure. The integrated development mode will take form in Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan urban agglomerations.
