Research On Land Use Change In The Three Gorges

The land resources are the foundation that human beings rely for existence and development. It is also a basic place where human beings carry out all social economic activities, rest and recuperate to live the interest. With the research on the world change advancing more deeply, the survival and development of human beings on land exploitation and land use as well as the land cover change is an important part and major reason of the world environmental change. Because of the complexity of the measurement, the research now is going extensively on the typical model regions, focus regions and area with weak environment all over the world.The Three Gorges Project is nowadays the biggest water resource pivotal project in the world, which has the functions of flood control, electricity generating, shipping, power supply, aquaculture, travelling as well as huge social-economic benefits. The influence of the Three Gorges Project on the land cover, economy and urban construction in this area gains a big focus. Having the Three Gorges dam area and downtown of Yichang City as the research object, this paper carries out the following researches:1. The land use/land cover changes of the Three Gorges are classified into non-supervised and supervised by using remotely sensed image change detection. The land use information is accurately and timely obtained by combining the traditional remotely sensed image interpretation and man-machine interactive land resource remotely sensing interpretation.2. Carry out multiple time quantitative computing and multi-angle qualitative analysis. Elaborate various driving factors of land use in the experimental areas. The major factor, strengthening and manipulating by human beings, is obtained by using quantity and quantity analysis. In this paper, it means the large-scale water resources pivotal project - the Three Gorges Project.3. Predict the land use development in the Three Gorges Area by elaborating the positioning relationship between the Three Gorges Dam Area and Yichang City and by using the experimental analysis on the downtown of Yichang City. Then, make proposals for continuous research on the land use change in this area.By researching on the detection of land use change in the Three Gorges Area as well as analyzing the main driving factor, we may accurately know about and then deal with the relationship between economic development and land us. By closely combing urban planning, land use and land cover, we may distribute and use land resources more reasonably.
