The Project Planning And Effectiveness Analysis For FAW JIEFANG PDM System

With the times come into 21 century, the economic globalization becomes more and more strengthening. There are some new questions related to the modern production industrial. We need find out the answers and solutions for the questions. Why do companies need think over about the revolutionary and extraordinary product innovation? How to organize and coordinate the team work more efficiently on product design and engineering? How to achieve synchronization and parallelization for product development in various stages? In the circumstance that the designer and engineer have been the focus of the company, which research tools should we provide for synchronous product development.In the same way,FAW JIEFANG company is facing unprecedented internal and external pressures of competition. To meet the demand of rapid growth of the product models, we have to change the old handwork management method and improve the product development standardization, serialization and universalization. In addition, the PDM system has been implemented in the upriver and downriver industry of FAW JIEFANG, such as technology development centre, XICHAI, DACHAI and Qingdao Auto Factory. In order to achieve the data processing by electronic and efficient means between upriver and downriver industry, FAW JIEFANG decided to implement product data management system.Firstly, we believe that the international competition depends on the competition of the enterprise product. This thesis addresses the importance of the product development in a manufacturing company. It introduces the situation of the application of PDM in Benz, Ford, Chrysler,FAW sedan, DongFeng Motor, ChangAn Motor and other foreign and domestic auto corporation. Secondly, integrating the theory and framework of the PDM system, analyzing and considering the present and future possible business of the companies, this thesis discusses the risk, control, content and operational planning of the PDM project implemented by FAW JIEFANG. PDM system in FAW JIEFANG is divided into 13 modules. The system will be implemented in four stages. The first stage includes data publishing and receiving, parts and components management (product structure management, category management), and document management which is the foundation and core of the PDM system. This thesis focuses on the research and implementation of the four modules in the first stage. Finally, I analyze and summarize the effectiveness of PDM System in FAW JIEFANG, and make further analysis and outlook for the system development and improvement in the thesis.
