Enterprises are facing increasingly fierce market competition in the process of economic globalization, therefore, the emphasis on the strategy significance of performance management become one of the key factors in business success. Enterprises have to obtain and maintain the competitive advantages if they want to develop and get stronger in the fierce competition. Performance management plays an irreplaceable role in creating and maintaining the competitive advantages.This paper selected Hunan Dongting Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd as the research object,studied the detailed situation of the company based on methods of combination of theory and practical research, and found out the problems of the company's employee performance management system. On this basis, the paper proposed the design principles, ideas, the characteristics and the specific design process of the optimization program to employee performance management. The new performance management system useed the PDCA system, and added feedback systems based on the existing performance management process, so that a one-way downward communication becomes two-way interactive communication. Finally, the paper described the new performance management system of Hunan Dongting Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., evaluated the new system, analyzed the advantages and disadvantages, and then put forward a number of safeguards to perfect the performance management system.Different research method and recognition on performance management will result in different implementation methods and effects, which largely affect the realization of the company's strategic objectives. This paper will seek the applicable performance management and improvement measures for the Hunan Dongting Lake Company, providing consulting significance for homologous enterprises to improve the organizational performance.
