Statistical Comprehensive Evaluation Of Society Harmony In China

Establishing harmonious society is playing a very important role in the procedure of affluent society. In the 16th National Congress, an idea of"establishing a more harmonious society"was proposed, which presented that harmonious society should embody six characters including democracy and the rule of law, fairness and justice, honesty and friendship, vigor and security, maintenance of social order, and concord between the nature and human being. To construct harmonious socialist society, which was proposed by the Fourth Session of the Sixteenth Central Congress of the Party, is the goal we are striving for.This paper establishes an indices system to evaluate and measure society harmony of China, according to intension and requirement of Harmonious Society. It evaluates the harmony of China in the overall extent, makes comparative analysis of the three regions in China, and analyzes the dynamic characteristics of harmony in China. It uses Fuzzy Membership Function to quantify the value of every index, takes advantage of Factor Analysis to calculate all indices'proportion objectively, and the evaluates out the harmony of population, economy, society, environment and the total harmony of the society based on the sample data of the year 2007. The result presents that the toatal harmony is 2.6497, which is relatively low. And pupulation harmony, economy harmony, society harmony, environment harmony are 3.2317,2.3682,1.9598,3.4887 respectively. Using Entropy Method and TOPSIS Method, it measures the social harmony of the east, the middle, and the west of China in 2007, gives a comprehensive rank of every region and analyzes their advantages and disadvantages. General speaking, the east, the middle and the west region's harmony are decreasing. The east region is comparatively high, while the west region is low, which is relative to the economy situation. Finally, it measures the social harmony of China from 2000 to 2007 using Dynamic Comprehensive Evaluation, and analyzes the dynamic characteristics of harmony in China and the reasons. From 2000 to 2007, the society harmony in China is increasing overally, which states that establishing harmonious society is more and more important, and that we all people have participated in the activities of establishing harmonious society, which is making the society harmony increasing these years.According to the research in this paper, to narrow the difference in all regions and increase our society harmony, we should follow the advice of the whole society harmony and region difference, which is based on the characteristics of population, economy, society and environment, and the differences among the east, the middle and the west regions. Devloping the advantages and improving the disadvatages is the way to increase the society harmony in China.
