The Research Of Quality Cost Management Based On Six Sigma Management

The concept of Quality Cost Management was born in the 50s of the last century, as the first time, this concept linked the quality and economic benefits of enterprises together, it not only broadens the category and deepen the theory of the Quality Management, but also changed the theory of business, and once made remarkable achievements in practice. However, with the changing of world economic situation and the development of the science and technology in the 60 years since its birth, the environment for Quality Management has changed greatly, the traditional Quality Cost Management cannot adapt to the current quality philosophy which aspire"Zero Defects"and"Performance Excellence Model", it faced with the urgent requirement of self-reform both in philosophy and in method. With the requirement of quality enhances unceasingly, in the late 80s, Motorola come up with Six Sigma Management, its goal is customer satisfaction, it has invent and integrate series of management methods and tools, tiding to the current changes in Quality Management philosophy and achieved great success in practice; compared to the traditional Quality Cost Management, Six Sigma Management has obvious advantages in the execution, but it lacks the continuity and systematic, which is exactly the characteristics of Quality Cost Management system . Thus it can be seen, if this two can integrated together and becoming a new system, they could foster their strengths and circumvent their weaknesses, and play their full role of management in the enterprise.This paper will make a comparative analysis to traditional Quality Cost Management and Six Sigma Management both in philosophy and in method, on that basis we will discusses the necessity of integrate Quality Cost Management and Six Sigma Management together ,and build a new Quality Cost Management system which based on the Six Sigma Management, and then this paper will discuss the improvement both in philosophy and in method of this new quality cost management system, and how this system combined with other management tools, such as Performance Management and Supply Chain Management, to create more, better, and more lasting benefits for enterprise.
