The Study On Regional Construction Industry Competitiveness And Strategies

2011 is the start of the twelfth five-year-plan outline, during which higher level and more massive domestic macro-economy and construction industry will be developed. Take Shandong province for example, during the next period, Shandong construction is not only faced with the new strategic opportunities to accelerate development but also the heavy strategic transition tasks and the challenges and competitions of all sorts. Shandong construction industry must improve the industrial competitiveness in this competitive environment to hold its place in domestic market.This paper mainly analyzes on Shandong construction industry competitiveness which is based on previous literature and data statistics, with the data collected from China Statistical Yearbook and the comprehensive use of regional industrial competitiveness theory, mathematical statistics and econometric methods. The main studies are as follows:First, through the way of multi-dimensional linear regression with the econometrics method, this paper studies the production, economic benefits and technical power of Shandong construction industry.Second, by using Douglas production function, this paper indicates that Shandong construction industry is of increasing returns to scale, moreover, this paper analyses the contribution to Shandong construction industry about technological progress, capital and labor inputs with the technical factors to be increased into it.Third, under the premise of a large sample of 19 indexes of 31 provinces, with the defined area of the eastern coastal provinces, this paper analyzes the basic condition of Shandong construction industry from 2007 to 2009 from both the horizontal and vertical directions through the way of principal component analysis and SPSS.Finally, corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are proposed from the following directions: expanding the construction industry economic scale, extending the construction industry supply chain, improving information technology and enhancing technological innovation. It is suggested that Shandong construction industry should adjust the industrial structure and take the way of sustainable development.
