The Research On The Interaction Relationship Between Producer Services And Advanced Manufacturing

The specificities of advanced manufacturing, such as excellent product quality, high technology content, and so on, make its development to be a feasible approach promoting the transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing. Producer services has strong industry relevance,so it is closely linked with the manufacturing and plays an important role in the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing. Therefore, in order to understand and use the law of industrial development to promote the development of advanced manufacturing, it is necessary to study the relationship between advanced manufacturing and producer services. Based on two-way interactions perspective, this paper focuses on the two following questions: firstly, theoretically, is there any interaction relationship between producer services and advanced manufacturing? Secondly, if this interaction relationship exists in theory, empirically, when the range of producer services and the advanced manufacturing is confirmed, is there any case which shows such interaction relationship between producer services industries and advanced manufacturing industries in China?The related research has focused on the relationship between producer service and manufacturing, while the associations between producer services and the advanced manufacturing are less well established. These studies generally consider there is interaction relationship between producer services and manufacturing, and such interaction relationship means mutual influence, interdependence, mutual promotion and common development. The relationship between the producer services and advanced manufacturing has been analyzed in some paper, but never from the perspective of two-way interactions. Moreover, there is very few paper which carries out the research with empirical research in the industry level.Considering this issue, firstly, this paper discusses the relationship between the producer services and the advanced manufacturing on theoretical level. Then, this paper concludes different methods which are frequently used by previous scholars to verify the interaction relationship between different industries, and chooses to use the method of combining input-output table analysis and econometric statistical model according to the characteristics of advanced manufacturing. After that, this paper confirms the range of producer services and the advanced manufacturing. Finally, on empirical level, this paper selects some producer services industries and the advanced manufacturing industries, and tries to verify the interaction relationship between these industries through the chosen method. Through the research, this paper finds:Theoretically, the interaction relationship between the producer services and advanced manufacturing exists. This is because, firstly, scholars generally consider there is interaction relationship between producer services and manufacturing. As one part of manufacturing, advanced manufacturing should also be interactive with producer services; secondly, the characteristics of producer services and advanced manufacturing are closely linked, making the advanced manufacturing and producer services pull and promote each other mutually; thirdly, the specialization and cooperation between producer services and advanced manufacturing promote the interaction relationship between producer services and advanced manufacturing.Empirically, there are some cases which show interaction relationship between producer services industries and advanced manufacturing industries in China, the interaction relationship between China's two producer services industries (transportation & warehousing industry, finance industry) with four advanced manufacturing industries (communications equipment, computers and other electronic equipment manufacturing, general, special equipment manufacturing, transportation equipment manufacturing, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing) is verified.Based on these conclusions, this paper proposes two proposals: firstly, comparing with one-way promotion for the development of advanced manufacturing, interaction relationship will lead to virtuous circle of development through mutual influence and promotion, which is expected to be more effective in promoting the development of advanced manufacturing. Therefore, to more effectively promote the development of four china's advanced manufacturing industries, one important thing is focusing on the development of transportation & warehousing industry, finance industry. Secondly, since there is interaction relationship between producer services with advanced manufacturing theoretically, and such interaction relationship contributes to more effective promotion for the development of advanced manufacturing, it is necessary to promote producer services and advanced manufacturing to be interactively.
