The Empirical Study On The Influencing Factors Of Technology Acquisition Paths In Private Enterprises

In the knowledge-base economy times, the technology are already become the most important resource of enterprise. Technology has being the most important resource and how to manage technology has become an important component of the firm strategy, as called Technology Strategy. The choice of technology acquisition paths is a very important step of technology strategy and has a long term influence on the firms.Since the beginning of 21st century, Chinese economy displays a lot of different phenomena from the past. Market competition is also more fiercely. Adding WTO has made a deeply change to china from Chinese management of the overall economy system and microcosmic line-up of enterprises. How private enterprises exist in such a social environment, they must optimize themselves'structural, and adjust technology strategy. Choosing which technology acquisition paths is very important in this situation.Based on the former research, this research is trying to do some tentative research using the sample of the Chinese private enterprises. In this study, broad categories of technology acquisition paths are grouped by the extent of a firm's R&D involvement into three modes: In-house R&D, R&D cooperation, and technology purchasing. This research is mainly to identify the factors which will influence the choice of technology acquisition paths, find out the most significant factor and the relationship of these factors.This paper's main content are organized as follows: First, we review the former study. Then according the former study and the characteristic of the Chinese private enterprises, we give some hypothesis and get a structure for the technology acquisition. Then we introduce the method that we use to analyze the data. Next, we go onto do the empirical study, and based on the study, we reach some conclusions. Finally, we give a summary on this research, point out the limitations of this paper, and give future researches some advice.There are three main innovative points in this study. First, combining with the former research, this research has structured a theoretical frame for Chinese private enterprises'technology acquisition paths. Second, use the SEM to analyze the influencing factors'relationship, and validation the research hypothesis .The third, we get some different concludes, and based on this, we give some advices to the private enterprises.
