| Technological innovation is the only way to gain competitive advantage for ourautomotive companies. And only by that way,can our country change into a powerfulvehicle country instead of a country just with biggest amount cars. As a veryimportant way for our automotive companies to get new technologies, technologyacquisition, more or less, will influence the process of technological innovation.This paper focuses on the theory and empirical research about the influence oftechnology acquisition on technological innovation. And we summarize three maintechnology acquisition methods, namely technological licensing, joint ventures andtechnological consulting. Meanwhile, combined with the technological innovationsystem and extensive literature research, we summarize four main factors abouttechnological innovation. The four factors are entrepreneurial orientation, corporatemanagement, corporate culture and corporate technological capabilities. Based onthese literature reviews, the model about the influence of technology acquisition onautomotive technological innovation was built and several hypotheses were proposed.Then, though questionnaires from some domestic automotive companies, we obtainedthe data for empirical research. At last, we use structural equation model method totest the theoretical assumptions we had proposed before.The research results show that technological licensing can influencetechnological innovation by effecting the corporate technological capabilities. Whilejoint ventures can influence all the four factors of technological innovation.Byeffecting entrepreneurial orientation,improving the enterprise management level,shaping innovative corporate culture and enhancing technological capacity,the way ofjoint ventures plays a positive role on technological innovation.At the end of thispaper, we proposed some advices for our government and automotive companies ontechnology acquisition and technological innovation. |
