Mixed model assembly line is one kind of flexible production system, it can produce more varieties of small quantities of products according to customer order, and it can meet the diversified demand of customers without causing major changes in the case of product inventory and enhance the enterprise's fast reflection ability to the market environment and the enterprise's competitive ability. The assembly line balancing is a long-term matter that an enterprise should concern of, in their organization and production, it relates to the efficiency of the entire enterprise's manufacturing, and plays a crucial rule in normally operate of enterprise's production order. The paper mainly does the following research about the balance of the mixed model assembly line in Nanhua Electricmotor:Firstly, by introducing the mixed model assembly line that of Nanhua Electricmotor's first workshop, the paper analyzes the current problems in assembly line, simulates the mixed model assembly line using Witness simulation software, discoverers the bottlenecks in processes and the procedures could be improved, and put forward the mending measures.Secondly, with the calculation about the balance efficiency of improved measures assembly line and in view of the low efficiency reason, the paper proposes a mathematical model to solve the problem with the objective of minimizing the number of workstation and workstation load.Then, in view of the mixed model assembly line balancing model, this paper designs a method of improved Particle Swarm Optimization. By analyzing the basic principles and characteristics of particle swarm optimization algorithm, and combining the peculiarities of the optimization problems about this discrete combination in mixed model assembly line, the paper uses crossover and mutation based on Genetic Algorithm. Based on the enterprise's situation, gives the balance of the assembly line model for solving and designs of the product's production sequencing in accordance with company specific.Finally, by comparing out of balance of the mixed model assembly line, confirms that the model indeed enable the station to achieve a balance load. What's more, the paper has also carried on the simulation which simulate to the production sequencing problem. From this, this article's research has certain significance both in theory and reality.
