| The financial institutions structure is the core of the financial structure. The transition of financial institutions structure makes a great impact on the economy, either can promote economic growth or restrain it. So it is very necessary to study which factors affect the financial institutions structure. In academic many studies of the financial institutions structure focus on the comparisons of countries and pay little attention of it in lengthways, therefore this thesis see the change the motivation of financial institutions structure as the starting point for research. In this paper, according to the relative ratio of banking financial institutions'assets and non-bank financial institutions'assets, Financial organizations will be divided into two types of structure: the bank-based financial institutions structure and market-based financial institutions structure. I describe the change of financial institutions structure for United States and Japan in various stages and analysis of driving factors by historical data of these two countries; analyze the motivation of financial institutions structure's change from the household sector, the business sector, government departments, and social enviroment these four directions in theory and econometric analysis. The empirical results show that these four factors have a certain impact on the United States, Japan's financial institutions structure changes.The analysis of financial institutions structure's changing motivation because of changes in the United States and Japan, that has a certain reference for the study of changes in Chinese financial institutions structure. Not only foreign financial institutions structure changed, also in China. This article is designed to analyze motivation of financial institutions structure's changing and provide reference for the study of Chinese financial structure, in order to promote good development of financial structure and the maintenance of financial stability. |
