Study On Trade Development Of Chongqing

Foreign trade has been considered the engine of economic development. Since China's reform and opening up in 1970s, it has passed 30 years. During this period, with the deepening of reform and opening up, foreign trade was considered as one of"three carriages"of pulling China's economic growth, playing an important role. Therefore, the research on the foreign trade has been the focus of research at home and abroad.This paper was taking Chongqing as an example, on the combination of theoretical analysis and data analysis and empirical analysis of the development of foreign trade. Based on the analysis of Chongqing's recently trade data, the paper can come to the following conclusions: first, trade scale of Chongqing unceasingly expands, the ratio of dependence on foreign trade of Chongqing is increasing and the foreign trade structure continues improving; Second, the general trade import and export plays the dominant role and the technical content of the import and export product improves constantly and its international competitiveness enhances; Third, the importers and exporters was diversification, formed a new situation by state-owned enterprises, private enterprises and foreign enterprises as the main body and a multi-ownerships economic jointly.; Fourth, the share of Asia market remains stable and the market of Europe grows, Meanwhile, the main import market is in Asia, but its dependence gradually reduces.Through the analysis of the economic development and trade figures of Chongqing from 1987 to 2008 and measurement model, this paper t can come to the following conclusions: the GDP of Chongqing and the import, the export exists stable relationship. Export promotes the GDP growth while import is not significant. Export trade and economic growth exists strong correlation which can verify the foreign trade do promote economic growth. Thus promoting foreign trade development in Chongqing has important significance to its economic growth.Under the guidance of"the opening up highland in inter-region "strategy, Chongqing , located in the southwest of China, its effect of opening up has gradually revealed. Trade scale of Chongqing unceasingly expands, the foreign trade structure constantly optimizes.. But compared to the coastal city, the potential of trade development in Chongqing is enormous. Therefore, how to give full play to the potential of foreign trade in Chongqing and make a breakthrough of its bottleneck is the key of the paper. It get to the result that there are four foreign trade problem needing to be solve under the new situation and new pattern of Chongqing: the first, change the idea; Second, develop international thoroughfare to reduce logistics cost; Third, develop the high value-added and light weight export products as key: Fourth, policy support. At present , the main mission to breakthrough the bottleneck of Chongqing is: first, create conditions to accelerate the construction pace of international thoroughfare; Second, accelerate transportation network planning; Third, adjust the industrial structure; Fourth, build export base; Fifth, strive for and make a number of special policy of opening up and export.
