| New and high-tech products reflect the most modern scientific and technological results, thus their export capacity can directly show the economic international competitiveness in a country or a region. For getting the initiative in the domestic and foreign markets, the countries, especially the developed countries and newly industrialized countries, who gradually take the new high-tech industry as their pillar industry, continuously support the new high-tech products export by formulating the strategic plans, increasing the investment and issuing the incentive policies, and take new high-tech products trade as a strategic measure to promote the economic development. Since about twenty years ago, through severe domestic and international competition, the scale of Guangdong's new and high-tech industry has continuously expanded rapidly, and their exports have been expanding, which has taking a certain position in the world market.By overviewing the theories related to international trade and the technical feature of new high-tech products, this paper is to outline the status quo of Guangdong's new high-tech products export, build an evaluation system to measure their international competitiveness, analyze the main restraining factors and existing problems in new high-tech products export in Guangdong, and at the same time use for reference the experience of the main developed and developing countries in the world. Finally, based on the above evaluating conclusions, it brings forward some strategic and policy suggestions, which may help Guangdong's new high-tech industry to upgrade its international competitiveness. |
