As the development of science and technology and the variety of market demand, enterprises are confronted with many challenges which have never occurred before. New management methods and production style are emerging continuously. Individual and small batch production based on order has become a main trend of production, while problems such as multi-projects operation and resource conflict under the circumstance have also been the main obstacles which blocked the development of the company. This paper will discuss scheduling of plastic extrusion system development project with critical path method, based on the characteristics of development process and structure of project. Scheduling of single project, sequencing of projects and master scheduling under multi-projects environment will be introduced. Then it will analyze the main defects of current scheduling technology, such as ignorance of psychological factor of human being, impact from non-critical-path activities and mutual influence among projects. It is concluded that the key conflict of scheduling under multi-projects environment is the contention of resource. To resolve the conflicts, the paper will introduce critical chain method. First squeezing the lead time of activities by analyzing and setting buffer to optimize project schedule, then set up system of scheduling and controlling of multi-projects including resource allocation, dynamic progress feedback and control of project delay, to balance the resource. Finally, the paper will demonstrate the application process of project scheduling based on real example to validate the effectiveness and practicability of the method.
