| Abstract: Flowers & plants industry is acknowledged as a rising sun industry. We have done a research on the development of production bases and on the status of market from 2002 to 2004, in Shaanxi province. The research is on the basis of related documents, advanced foreign research results and the analysis of characteristics and trends of flowers & plants industry between home and abroad.Ⅰ Shaanxi flowers & plants industry development is strategic. It is under the requirements of the situation throughout the world, people's living standard, construction of spiritual civilization, national economic development, agricultural structure adjustment, increase of peasants' income, shaking off poverty and setting out on a road to prosperity and sustainable development.Ⅱ Current situation of the development, on the analysis of history and current characteristics, it is got that production scale is enlarged continuously, professional production begins to take shape, production technology is boosted constantly, investment is pluralistic and market construction becomes riper.Ⅲ There are still some problems. The lack of preferential policies and investment reflects the contradictions between small productions and large markets, between extensive productions and standard requirements, also with insufficient injection of science and technology, imperfect circulating system and service system, the development is hindered.Ⅳ Measures and countermeasures: Shaanxi flowers & plants industry is provided a historical opportunity by those such as Western Region Development, agricultural structure adjustment, the project of conceding the land to forestry & grass and rapid development of urban construction. Relying on Shaanxi traditional culture of flowers, advantaged position, plant resources, nature resources and workforce resources, all executives must pay more attention to the development of the industry, realize the potential and newcoming advantages of flowers and plants markets, improve the industry policies, import market mechanism, exploit wild resources more, suit measures to local conditions, develop flowers through science and technology, enhance marketing management, carry on branding strategy, develop eco tourism, improve service system and increase Sino-foreign exchange and cooperation.The development of Shaanxi flowers & plants industry should be powered by science and technology, be oriented by market, be guaranteed by quality and take benefits as the goal. And we should open a scientific, professional, scale developing and commercialized managing way. |
