Sichuan province is well known for its abundant natural resources , long history and diverse minority cultures, such as beautiful and splendid Jiuzaigou, Huanglong, Mt.Eemei, Leshan Giant Buddha, Mt.Qingcheng and Dujiang weir,which make Sichuan as one of the most important tourism provinces in China.Most scenic spots,however,concentrate in northwests west and south of Sichuan except center of the province, where tourism industry did not have a bright future until the Chinese "dead sea" scenic spot of Daying showed its strong attraction for tourists in 2005.The success of "dead sea"has a strong effect on Shehong county which is neighboured by Daying.The government of Shehong began to think over how to take advantage of this opportunity to develop tourism with Daying and hope to enter into a new tourism stage.Shehong county is located in the center of Chengdu, Chongqing and Mianyang cities. It is not only Chenziang's hometown, who was one of the greatest poets of Tang dynasty but also the origin of Chinese famous liquor—Tuopai, and it is the exemple for counties with hilly terrain for its developing economy,which has three public corporations.Compared with Daying, Shehong tourism industry should have been developed very well for its abundant natural and historic resources, but in fact it didn't gain the fame and occupy the deserved marketing proportion of tourism and is still in the beginning period of development at present.It is urgent that scientific theory of tourism marketing should be adopted to guide the marketing activities of Shehong tourism.The tourism of Shehong is in the downstream level because of two existing problems—target market position and the orientation of tourism development are not clear.Taking the actual problems in Shehong tourism marketing as the point of departure, this article analyzes problems from theoretical support and actual situation.First, based on the marketing environment analysis.it estimates tourism market, market segment and market positioning.Secondly,by the comparsion of...
