Rice integration is an effective way to stabilize and develop rice production and increase the income of peasant households. The research on organization modes of rice integration has a quotable meaning on mode self-improvement and government's rice industrial policy. Taking Huaicheng Rice Ltd. in Hongze County, Jiangxian Rice Ltd. in Danyang County and Shuangtu Rice Ltd. in Jiangsu Province as cases, formation and development of organization modes of rice integration were studied by the transaction- cost theory. The main results are as follows:(1) According to the number of interest principal part in rice integration, organization modes of rice integration in Jiangsu Province are divided into three types, i.e. one-dimensional mode, two-dimensional mode and multidimensional mode. There is a tendency of multidimensional and diversificational in organization modes of rice integration in Jiangsu Province at present.(2)Four successful factors in rice integration of a enterprise are concluded, which is an able enterpriser who would commit himself to rice integration, a favorable rice production base, government support policies and an appropriate organization mode of rice integration.(3)Formation of a organization mode of rice integration is the result of the reciprocity between the bargaining subjects and objects (the leading enterprises, peasant households, rice product) and the bargaining environmental conditions. Forming a organization mode of rice integration by the leading enterprise and peasant households is based on pursuit of relative high bargaining efficiency and expected earnings. When inside and outside environmental conditions of a mode changed, the mode will regulate itself or be replaced by another one. The regulation and alteration of a mode is aimed to decrease transaction costs. There is no best mode, to choose a mode is a dynamic optimization process.(4) Credit standing of the leading enterprise in a mode is helpful to stabilization and decrease transaction costs of mode. The credit standing made through long-term cooperation between the leading enterprise and peasant households is a kind of valuable intangible asset.(5)Rice Product specificity is highly correlated to the rational decision making of peasant households and stabilization of modes. Generally, the higher degree of contracted rice product specificity, the more stable the contract would be. Much more specific assets investments increases peasant households'risk in rice integration, which is not helpful to peasant households'entering rice integration.(6) Because of the chronicity of miniature production system in China and the limitations of the"company & farmer"mode, it is necessary to add"a third part"to decrease transaction costs of organization mode of rice integration. To incorporate a cooperative society or association of peasant households is a beneficial way to extend. Grain agencies and agricultural technique extension departments can join rice integration through playing roles in cooperative societies or associations.Based on the above analyses, some implications to optimize organization modes of rice integration and develop rice integration in Jiangsu Province are put forward.
