A Study On Hotel Industry Convergence And Its Measure

As the foreland of industry economy, industrial convergences are the focus of experts both home and abroad. With the development of hotel industry, more and more phenomenon of hotel industry convergence is coming forth but without systemic and theoretical research. This dissertation tries to build up the research framework to study hotel industry convergence and design models to measure and calculate the extent of hotel industry convergence with the combination of hotel industry characteristics. So the results can be used as the guidelines for the government to regulate and constitute its industrial policies as well as the direction for hotel enterprises to innovate in the future.In the process of study, many research methodologies have been adopted, such as the literature review, programming method, model construction, qualitative and quantitative analysis. This dissertation starts with the basic theories of industrial convergence and expatiates on its origination and explanations. Secondly it divides the categories of hotel industry convergence in the broad and narrow senses separately according to the characteristics of hotel industry. Then it focuses on the calculation methods of the infiltration convergence of the technology in hotel industry and the extension convergence between hotel industry and other industries. In comparison to the industrial spread effects between hotel and information industries, the phase of hotel industry convergence in China can be judged. Finally it finds out the influences of hotel industry convergence to government regulation and corporation development as well as the countermeasures.
