The sales volumn of EMS of the Post Office of Yiyang has been increased by a speed of 2-digital number since it started EMS businesss from 1985.While in resent years, competition in this field was intense. Except competetion with those international big names such as DHL, Fedex, UPS, TNT, there are also vigorous competitions with domestic well-known companies such as CRE,CAE,STO, TTKD, etc. The competition status was even worse since the government had lifted entrance limits for foreign Express companies.The thesis targeted at the competitive position of the Post Office of Yiyang through anylisis of macro enviroments, trade characteristics, internal resources and abilities of the company And on this basis, the thesis pointed out that the company should adopt the cost-preferential strategy according to the product competition strategy theory, and emphasized the importance of human resource management, specialization, inprovement of service level and bands for the company to maintain its competitive superiority.During the process of the implementation of the competitive strategy, the company will definitely meet into many difficulties and obstacles. The whole industry corordinate their resources and jointly deal with changes on the markets, thus they can estabish a lasting competitive superiority.
