The Study Of Chongqing Automobile Industrial Cluster’s Competitiveness

Automobile industry has a long industrial chain,its development not only has an expanding or multiple multiplier effect on economic growth,but promotes the development of rubber,glass,steel, electrical equipment and so on,which would solve the employment problem and improve social welfare, which in turn will promote further development of the auto industry.As a pillar industry of Chongqing,auto industry has developed rapidly in recent years. On August 16,2012, the Revitalization Planning of Chongqing Automobile Industry from 2013 to 2015 issued by Chongqing municipal government, which set target of building Chinese largest auto industry manufacturing base,and formulated revelant measures to achieve the goal.At first,the paper simply expounds the theory of industrial cluster,and introducts some successful cases of domestic and foreign automobile industry cluster.Then describe and undertaking a qualitative analysis of production elements, demand condition, enterprise’s strategy and competition, related supporting industry, government and opportunities of Chongqing automobile industrial cluster by Porter’s diamond model,pointing out the characteristics and advantage of Chongqing automobile industrial cluster,which provides reference and basis to undertake quantitative analysis and put forward suggestions of its competitiveness.Secondly,establish a tri-grade evaluation index system based on GEM model,use the mean method to normalise original data, the variation coefficient method is used to determine the weights of indexes.Then rank Chongqing, Shanghai,Hubei Province, Guangdong Province and Jilin Province according to competitive value of automobile industrial cluster from 2008 to 2013.Overall,The competitiveness of Chongqing automobile industrial cluster is strengthening from the bank,but lagging behind Shanghai and other zones.In order to find out competitive advantage and disadvantage of Chongqing automobile industrial cluster,Chongqing is compared with the other four regions in detail including resources,facilities, efficiency and the market,etc.Finally,as a part of economic new normal, the development of the auto indu stry would enter the new normal.Based on this background,how to make Chongq ing autom-obile industrial cluster more outstanding.The paper finds out deficiency and problems by comparison, draws on the successful experience of foreign automobile industri al cl-usters,puts forward suggestions on strengthening competitiveness of Chongqi ng automo-bile industrial cluster:improve and perfect relevant industries and matc hing facilities;in-crease the ability of research and development,master key techni que of automobile andcomponents and parts,enhance the ability of creating brand s and improve gold content of brands;auto enterprises in Chongqing should impr ove economic benefits;expand lead-ing enterprise;support components and parts en terprises by combinding independent in-novation and investment promotion.
