| The dissertation focuses primarily upon the theories and empirical test of institutional transition and initiation of China's rural investment & finance. Drawing upon the capital formation and economic development theory, institution & economic development theory, it has defined the scope of the investment & finance and the frame of the rural investment & finance institutional concept, analyzed the historical transition of the rural investment & finance and properties of its evolution, as well as the economic effects of institutional transition at the theoretical and empirical level, diagnosed the causes of the problems existing in the investment & finance institution. It also has put forward a new pathway to the rural investment & finance institutional initiation, based upon the rural industrial structure adjustment. Finally, the author has come up with some feasible strategies for the rural investment & finance institutional initiation in accordance with China's current rural economic and investment & finance institution.1. The basic conclusion(1) The lack of the rural investment & finance institutional initiation of the modern market-oriented economy is the fundamental root of "the issue of agriculture, countryside and farmers".By analyzing the real data of agriculture loan, public funds intended to support agriculture, rural investment and farmers' net income per capita from1980 to 2004, It has shown that the increased investments and public funds contributed much to the rise of farmers' income, while the increased loans engendered a negative effect upon the increase of farmers income. In such a sense, only real rural investment can promote the increment of farmers' income.
