The Research On The Economic Policy Supporting System Of SMEs In Wenzhou

Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) is an important driving force for the economic development in a country or region. Both in developed countries and developing countries, it contributes tremendously to the gross product, fiscal revenue and employment rate.Wenzhou's economy first picked up from its private sectors, and Wenzhou has become one of the most vibrant regions in China for its economic development, with the creation of the famous "Wenzhou Economic Model" due to the sustained and fast growth of SMEs in Wenzhou. It's a task for the local government as how to exert the advantages of SMEs, solve their problems encountered in the development, and to tap the potentials of SMEs in an effort to keep economic edge. It'll not only concern the future development of Wenzhou, but will also bring significant role model effect for other regions in China.This article takes SMEs in Wenzhou as the subject of research by referring to and expounding theories of the government-supported policy systems involving system, technology, society and economy. Through comparison with and adoption of policies supporting SMEs in foreign countries, the article points out that it's most crucial and imperative for the local government to construct sound system of economic policies to support the development of SMEs. By utilizing analytical methods of research in literature, investigation, comparative analysis, data analysis and chart analysis, the article takes the economic policy system as theoretical framework, analyzes and assesses the status of the development of Wenzhou's SMEs from the points of industry, finance and revenue. Based on the above, the article focuses on the problems facing Wenzhou's SMEs in their development by offering the local government concrete and doable suggestions regarding supportive policies involving industrial, financial and revenue issues.
