Compensation management is one of the core matters in human resource management in modern enterprises. So design and perfect the compensation modes has become one importance aspect in human resource management. How to design a compensation mode, which is able to inspirit inside and compete outside, is also one of the key issues in enterprise compensation management. This paper starts from the studies of domestic and overseas compensation modes and the development trends of compensation modes, analyzes related compensation theories and characteristics of compensation modes. It also explores compensation innovations and finally puts forward the multi-unit management compensation mode based on position cluster and total system. The main contents are as following:The theory of multi-unit management compensation mode based on position cluster and total system is studied. The importance of compensation management and interrelated compensation theories are introduced. The object and contents of compensation management are concluded, and problems of compensation management are summarized. From the aspects of compensation design rationalization, compensation system generalization and compensation management multi-unit, compensation innovations are explored. The background of multi-unit management compensation mode based on position cluster and total system is analyzed. Basic principles of the management mode are explained from four aspects, which are"position cluster is the base, compensation system generalization is the focus, combination of performance and compensation are the key, multi-unit management is the core". In the end, differences between multi-unit management compensation mode and traditionalcompensation mode are pointed out clearly.Multi-unit management compensation mode system based on position cluster and total system is studied. The establishment foundation of the system is expatiated from the following aspects: job analysis and evaluation, Position cluster classification standard, position layer description, the determination of economical rewards and non-economical rewards, as well as the definitude of organizational structure.
