Research On The Countermeasures Against The Barriers To Trade In Services

With the development of international trade in services, the impacts of the barriers to trade in services become more and more important to our country. The purpose of this paper is to address the countermeasures against the barriers to trade in services.This paper analyses the signification, characteristic, sort, trend and the reason of setting the barriers to trade in services. Then point out that though with the development of liberalization of trade in services, the barriers still exist and become more covert and flexible. From compare with the barriers in the world, we can learn that both developed and developing countries use barriers to protect their trade. Our country had suffered the barriers to trade in services, especially in the mode of"commercial presence"and"movement of personal". Tourism, transport, contracted projects, labor cooperation are our main export departments and had suffered the barriers.How to settle with the barriers to trade in services is a hot issue today. Government, guilds and corporations must do something to it. Government plays the most important role in settling. Government can build a settling system to settle with the barriers. Negotiation is a direct way to settle with the barriers. After entering the WTO, we can use the rule of WTO to protect our profits. Guilds must help government and corporations to settle with the barriers. Corporations must improve their ability to compete with foreign company.
