China is a great nation which produces and exports textile and garments. However the technology content of China's textile and garment exportation is not high, and the processing trade and OEM account for quite a great proportion. Meanwhile China's export of textile and garments relies a lot on developed countries. In recent years, the green trade barriers set by developed countries have sterner influences on China's export of textile and garments.The paper analyzes the concept, the origin, the types and the development conditions of green trade barriers as well as the impacts on the export of China's textile and garments by green trade barriers, and seeks the countermeasures to green trade barriers as well as the proper way to solve trade disputes. Therefore, the study on green trade barriers has practical significance to the development of China's textile and garment industry, the promotion of the foreign trade of textile and garments and the consolidation of the status of China's great production and export of textile and garments.
