| Chinese industry of garment has got great development since the opening and reformation policy. Firstly, the coastal areas of the country attracted the textile or garment manufacturing enterprises to move from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan to the inner land due to the zone superiority and lower labor cost. As a result, more and more OEM garment enterprises appeared, and soon many textile or garment industrial clusters were formed in the coast areas. All this aspects greatly improved the garment industry's international competitiveness of our country. After the accession to the WTO, there will be greater market opportunities to Chinese middle or low class garments, thus the country's garment industry will get rapid development in the future.Fumian is an administrative district of Yulin city in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the garment manufacturing industry of the district began from imitating the garment enterprises of Guangdong Province, furthermore, enterprises of Guangdong Province were attracted to move west by Fumian's lower labor cost. With the rapid development of the country's garment industry and the move-to-west tendency of Guangdong's enterprises, there will be huge opportunities to the development of Fumian's garment manufacturing industry.This paper, by using economic theories, competitive superiority theories and strategic management theories and tools, takes a deep investigation and analysis on Chinese garment industry, the external opportunities and threat as well as the internal resources, strength and weakness of Fumian's garment manufacturing industry. And then determines the selected feasible development strategies of the industry, and then on the basis of analysis of the selected feasible strategies, forms a strategic system model of Fumian's garment manufacturing industry. At last, this paper gives advices to the selection, practice and control of strategies from the government's as well as the enterprises' point of view. |
