Research On Organizational Structure Of Enterprise Project Management

Enterprise Project Management (EPM) is new management model, which is formed by the project management method broadly applied to long-term organizations, such as enterprises and government departments. EPM refers to consider from the overall situation and manage every mission as a project in the whole enterprise. Its dominant ideology is manage missions as projects, the core of which is an organizational management system based on project management. A reasonable organizational structure must be matched to EPM, however, existing theories had not properly answered this question. This situation restrict EPM's application and development.This paper summed up relevant theories, and analysed some organizational structures which are usually used by project management. Both the function organizational structure and the project organization structure have so many apparent disadvantage, and don't fix the EPM's demand. The matrix organizational structure combined the advantages of the former two, and overcame their disadvantage. The matrix organizational structure gave us some guidance to construct a effective EPM's organizational structure, but it still have some disadvantage such as the orders are not uniform.
