This article studies the orientation and implementation of the logistics development strategy of China Foreign Trade and Transportation (Group) co., ltd. (herein and after called "SINOTRANS").Firstly, the article introduces the background of SINOTRANS's logistics strategy. Being the forthgoer in China's logistics industry, SINOTRANS has more advantages such as strength and experience in developing logistics business. However, SINOTRANS haven't become the outstanding one among the logistics companies. The article has some study at this point and tries to find some ways for the logistics strategy of SINOTRANS.Secondly, the author introduces some theories and methods that will be used in the article, such as the Michael Porter Theory, Core Competence, PEST Analysis and SWOT Analysis.Thirdly, the author studies the macro-environment of Chinese logistics industry from the aspect of economic, political, social and technical factors. Then he discusses the impact of the environment on SINOTRANS.SINOTRANS is a comprehensive logistics enterprise group that deals with forwarding, shipping agency, shipping, storage & warehousing, wharf, trucking and multimode transportation.
