Differentiated Management & Inventory Control Of Raw Materials In Manufacturing Enterprise

At present, the manufacturing enterprises meet the problems of diversified requirements from customers, short delivery time of customer orders, long purchasing lead time, difficult inventory control etc., so the enterprises pay more and more attention to inventory and inventory management. The inventory can prevent parts shortage from happening, with the function of keeping continuous production, apportioning ordering charge and meeting customers'requirements quickly. However, in many manufacturing enterprises the inventory cost, especially the inventory cost of raw materials occupies lots of current capital. In some enterprises, the inventory of raw materials occupies 70% of the total inventory, so it's very important to decrease the inventory of raw materials and reduce the inventory cost, which is also the stress of"the third profit source"of the enterprises. Through case analysis, this paper indicates that the manufacturing enterprises can make use of material classification method synthetically, adopt differentiated management according to different types of materials, and carry out inventory control strategies, such as MRP, VMI, Kanban/2-bin, ROP etc. in order to reduce the inventory level, improve the enterprise's capital flow, solve the problems in inventory management, optimize inventory management and enhance the manufacturing enterprise's competitive ability.
