In practical operation, where to find projects, which process to choose a project, and how to evaluate a project, are very unsubstantial from theory to experience, therefore to establish a scientific and feasible venture capital project evaluation index system is vital to operate a venture capital firms healthily, as well as urgent to solve the development of China's venture capital industry. Especially since 2003, international market, domestic policies and investment environment have undergone a series of changes, such as the establishment of Shenzhen SME board, of foreign capital into the venture capital industry, which influence the venture capital investment environment in China, so venture capital companies should correspondingly consider the factors and their relatively importance when they choose and evaluate investment projects. However, the existing research does not fully reflect the change.This article reviews and sums up the United States and other country, Taiwan and Mainland China scholars' researches of venture capital project evaluation index system, besides, it analyses and evaluates the development of their studies.
