This thesis is standing on the background of M Iron and Steel Corporation. Coal is the main fuel in M Corporation. Purchasing coals employ 35% of all purchase logistic, and up to 25% of the total logistic costs for purchase and sale in this corporation. At the meanwhile, the cost of coal logistic is up to 15-25% of the total purchase coast and 26% of the total manufacturing cost. So controlling the outer logistic cost of purchasing coal is very important for the core competition of the whole corporation. This article we studied upon on programming and designing the outer coal purchasing logistic of M to optimize the routes for reducing the coast and improving the competitive. In this article we drew the optimized outer coal logistic routes for M corporation for reaching 6 million tones annual output.In the first chapter, we would like introduce the general information of M. We hope to build a basic idea that the outer coal logistic is one of the core factors to win in future market competition. In the next chapter, we analyzed the supply and demand situations of coal in China. We fully studied the present inner logistic conditions in M, we pointed out the main aim of this article--How to solve the matters in logistic which might affect the 6 million tons output project. In the third chapter, we choose 15 coal bases supply M with the view of not only the coal characters, qualities and locations, but also the technique requirements of power station and coke plant. In the fourth chapter, standing on the chosen coal bases and thinking about the railway routes, we choose the ports for sea transport and river transport. We accounted time consuming and all the fees include transport fees, store fees etc. to construct an emulator model. Through this model, we optimized the logistic from coal bases to M workplaces. In the actually simulation, we also found chosen a good ship model could both reduce the load and unload time and improve the whole coal logistic efficiency.
