Study On Inventory Management Under Supply Chain Environment Of Automotive Parts Company

That how to meet the requirement of clients quickly and effectively with low cost, is the main problem which is faced by most of the automotive parts companies. Under this background, inventory management become the study point. The idea of Supply chain become the best solution of inventory management.The traditional inventory management always focus on optimizing the inventory cost of the company itself. It makes its decision of order quantity according to its inventory cost and delivery cost. It seems reasonable from the view of a single company, but if we consider it from the view of whole supply chain, it become not enough. Through the study of inventory management problem, some of the advanced methods of inventory management are introduced, include VMI (vendor managed inventory), JMI (jointly managed inventory), CPFR (Collaborative Planning, Forecasting & Replenishment), and TPL (Third Party Logistics), etc.Base on the theory of inventory management under supply chain, a special case of an automotive company is studied. After analyzing the inventory problem and present situation of the company, the reasons are listed as two sides: the outer environment of supply chain and the internal management problem. And then, the methods are made from several items: the strategy partners of the company, performance evaluation, production and purchase planning, purchase strategy and inventory control, etc. The purpose of the study is, to provide solution of inventory control and management for the same company, and enhance the service level, decrease the company cost.
