An Analysis On China's Industrial Structure Adjustment Based On High Oil Price

Energy is critical to the development of national economy and society. With the rapid development of Chinese economy over years, the demand of energy has increased greatly, especially the demand of oil. Oil, as a strategic resource, is regarded as an extremely important energy in the world. In recent years, with a constant increase of oil consumption, China has become the second largest country in oil consumption. So the recent international high oil price had influenced China's economic on many aspect, especially on the adjustment of industrial structure in China. So how to adjust industrial structure with close consideration of the limitation of oil or energy, has become an significant issue, which is main objective of this thesis as well.There are many factors to influence the industry structure of China. Based on the energy economical theory and foundation of the demand and supply, this thesis gives some advices to upgrade the industrial structure of China, by studying the reaction between the industrial structure and energy development.Firstly, as the theoretical foundation part, the theses states the relevant theories, including the theory of Nature Resource Economics and the Industry Economics and the Sustainable Development, explains the relations and interactions between energy and economy development.Secondly, from the angle of the energy resources, energy production scale, energy productivity and structure etc, the thesis analyses the present supply and demand of energy, both within the worldwide and Chinese countrywide, then concludes that the gap between the demand and supply of oil is increasing with the needs of industry structure in China.In the third part, based on the analysis of the industry structure of China and the review of the historical data, the thesis discusses the influences which various industrial change expended to the energy. Because of the industrial sector's feature in energy consumption, the chapter gives a key analysis to the industry sector.
