The Evolution Route Of China's Foreign Trade Strategy

This thesis starts with a systematic theory comments, through redefining the connotation of foreign trade strategy to analyze the peculiar characters of different stages of Chinese foreign trade strategy, finally summarizes the development route of the strategy and point out the developmental directions. In a specific description of each stage, the thesis adopt the indexes of sector's tendency; the interests of foreign trade; the continuity of the development of foreign trade to expound its contents, and do a further-step explanation with policy system, this is one of the creative point in this thesis.This thesis adopts a research method which combines theoretical analysis with positive analysis, quantitative analysis with qualitative analysis, discusses different types of foreign trade strategy from a theoretical point of view—the extension of the connotation of foreign trade strategy, and verifies the chosen of Chinese foreign trade theory on the basis of above research method and thought process. The anticipated research achievements include two aspects, the first is: be able to make an objective statement of the connotation of Chinese foreign trade strategy as well as its stage characters on the basis of qualitative analysis; The second is: be able to use effective data, target and case study to demonstrate the evolution route of the Chinese foreign trade strategy on the basis of quantitative analysis. The anticipated creative view include three points, the first point is redefining the connotation of foreign trade strategy; The second point is raising a differential method in the evolution stages of Chinese foreign trade strategy; The third point is providing a guide on the future evolution of Chinese foreign trade strategy.This thesis includes 4 chapters. The first chapter is introduction, it introduce the research background and excuse, the present situation of the research as well as the anticipated point of view. The second chapter is the redefinition of the connotation of foreign trade strategy, it introduce four aspects which compose its connotation: sector's tendency, the interests of foreign trade, policy system, and the continuity of the development of foreign trade. This chapter provides a theory basis for the next chapter's discussion. The third chapter is a review of the Chinese foreign trade strategy, it differentiate Chinese evolution route of foreign trade strategy into 4 stages: the extreme import substitution stage, the moderate import substitution stage, the marginal export-oriented stage and the export-oriented stage, this chapter is the core of the whole thesis. The forth chapter is a forecast of the developing direction of Chinese foreign trade strategy, it is the conclusion of the preceding chapter.
