Study On The Relationship Between The Mechanization Of Herbage Harvest And The Development Of Grass Industry

Since 2000, the government has introduced forage grass harvest machines and tried an extension of using the machines. Although some achievements have been gained, the government is lagging behind in leading farmers using the machines to harvest their forage grass. By surveying, the writer of the thesis has analyzed the general production of agriculture in Jiuquan, surveyed the development of mechanical technology of forage grass harvest and evaluated the present mechanical harvest of forage grass. The types of the mechanical harvesters have been suggested, based on the performance test to the harvesters, pilot production and the need of developing forage grass industry. This paper has proposed some ideas of developing mechanization of grass harvest, of enhancing government support, of founding test based, and of setting up performance service teams. At the end are further ideas and ways of developing enterprises for processing grass, of guiding the farmers according to the local conditions and of training the farmer operators.
