A Study On Advanced Development Of Public Transportation In Guangzhou

The transportation is still the stubborn problem and getting more and more serious in Guangzhou although its remarkable success in economy, which is probably restricted by its terrible city transportation. The Government has pay more and more attention to this problem by carrying out the "Bus First" as one of the useful measure to solve this problem, but the effect is not so good.The main problems of transportation in Guangzhou are the following, the huge transportation flux, the behindhand civil construction, the plenty of transportation blind-spot, the serious traffic jam in the center of the city. The main problems of public transportation in Guangzhou are the following, lack of fleet bus-stop, the improper bus lines, the bad linking up between bus and subway, the serious bypass of bus, the un-special "bus special road" , the low scattered ability of bus-stop.The vicious circle has been exited between the spatial configuration of Guangzhou city and transportation supply. It's unworkable to solve the problem by only depending on additional transportation supply. The way should be on transportation demand management by advanced developing public transportation. To break up the deadlock between the spatial configuration of Guangzhou city and transportation supply and demand by selecting correctly the transportation mode and leading transportation flux to new spatial distribution.It's the precondition for the development of economy to build up scientific public transportation system. It's one of the best ways to carry out the "Bus First" to optimize the transportation configuration in Guangzhou, to solve the traffic jam, to meet the demand of the developing economy, and to support the establishment of the harmonious society. The goal of public transportation is to supply the citizen of Guangzhou with more convenient, rapid, economic, secure and comfortable transportation services.In order to set up "Bus First" , the ways we should do are including the following, to build up the relative law and regulation, to improve the bus service, to introduce advanced technology for increasing the public transportation with appeal for citizens.
