The Study On The Industries Structure Optimization Of Large Shenyang Economic Area

With the background of economic globalization and regional integration, the medial megalopolis of Liaoning,which consisted by Shenyang, Anshan, Fushun, Benxi, Liaoyang, Yingkou, Tieling seven cities, intends to establish the Large Shenyang economic Area(LSEA) and adopt the strategy of integrative development. Liaoning province has chosen this plan as the best way to reinvigorate the Liaoning Old Industrial Base. The establishment of LSEA is based on the three regional economy theories: the theory of megalopolis, the theory of industrial cluster and the theory of regional development strategy. The model of Shift-Share Analysis(SSA) is an important tool to do some quantitative research of regional industrial structure. In this article, by choosing three industries data between1998 and 2003, using the model of SSA, the author analyzes three industries'structure of LSEA. The analysis results indicate that the industrial structures are becoming more desirable and the competitiveness stronger. Meanwhile,in order to do an in-depth research, 37 industrial sectors of Liaoning are also studied in this dissertation. Associated two analysis results, it can be seen that the quantitative analysis is consistent with qualitative analysis. The analysis results can be taken as a solid ground for policy-make. In the end, the paper gives some suggestion for the industrial clusters establishment.
