| In today's open economy, the interactive relevance of international industrial transfer and industrial structure makes FDI(Foreign Direct Investment) a vital factor influencing on the shift of national industrial structure. It is an important strategy to take advantage of FDI in the development process of manufacturing industry in Jiangsu province. The shift of manufacturing industry among the world has both an advantageous and disadvantageous effect on the structure of manufacturing industry in Jiangsu province. How to appraise the impact of such transfer means a lot for the stimulation and adjustment of policy in using FDI.Firstly, the paper makes a general introduction on the relationship between industrial transfer and industrial upgrade. Then, it gives a definition on the industrial upgrade for manufacturing industry. Secondly, this discourse analyses beneficial role of such transfer and brings forward its upgrade mechanism. It pays attention on the present condition of foreign— invested manufacturing industry from the aspect of distribution of output countries, geographical layout of FDI, means of investment and industrial pattern. What is more important is that this discourse also measures the direct and indirect effect of FDI on manufacturing industry in Jiangsu province. And it makes an experimental research on three effect of foreign — invested enterprises such as capital—forming effect, technological spillover effect and industrial cluster effect. Last but not least, it proposes purposeful and useful suggestions for manufacturing industry in Jiangsu province to get a better result by seizing the opportunity of international industrial transfer. |
