Currently lots of enterprises in China have utilized performance management system to cascade the objectives of the organization, and improve the operation efficiency. But there is big gap between the brought management system and the real company culture, and the difference of management style and executing method, all these cause totally different effect. The stockholder, management and employees all expect to see a perfect and suitable performance management system to assess the works. Under this situation, this thesis introduces the effect of the performance management and appraisal, and the structure of the PM system by comprehensive theoretical and systematic analysis. At the same time, it also interprets how to set up the performance indicator system, and analyzes the systematic and non-systematic performance appraisal approaches. It gives a direction about the effective implementation of the performance appraisal. At last, author analyzed some common problems of the PM execution and gave some suggestion about according improvement. And a good distinctive practice of Top 500 enterprises worldwide also elevated valuable direction to the performance management and appraisal.The achievements of this study have significant practical values to the human resources and organization management, especially about building up the company performance management system and pursuing culture, setting up appraisal indicator system and analyzing approaches, and the whole PM execution process.
