In the industry society with shortage of petroleum resources, it is a key topic for many countries and companies that how to find and exploit more and more petroleum. Seismic is one of geophysical technique to find petroleum. Compared with other techniques, seismic can locate the reservoir and drilling location precisely with lowest investment, so many oil companies pay much more attention to it. Based on this, how to execute the seismic project is becoming one of the key issues to acquire resources nowadays. As the core part of seismic project management, study on risk management is being gotten more and more attention.This paper includes the following parts:Firstly, it offers the seismic risk management framework; sets up the basic process of seismic risk management based on the analysis of project risk management process.Secondly, it explains risk planning, risk identification, risk analysis and risk supervision; analyze the popular technique of risk study and the advantages and disadvantages of them.Thirdly, it narrates the risk factors in the execution of El Toco seismic project; uses the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to evaluate the risk of several options and acquires successful results.International seismic risk management is a quite complex system issue. Our objective is to provide thinking and framework for international seismic project management, apply the mathematic tool to the area such as AHP, offer the reference and consultancy to other similar projects, and improve the risk management.
