A Research On Fujian-Taiwan Port Logistics Industry Cooperation On The Basis Of Direct Sea Transportation

Fujian is separated from Taiwan only by a strip of water. Though since the reform and opening-up, the economic cooperation between the two places has achieved great success, the cooperation in the logistics field still left to be expanded. Fujian and Taiwan stand close to each other, and both of the two places have resources and advantages of logistics cooperation. If the two places take the advantages of their ports and geographical location, and give development to port logistics coordinately, the mutually beneficial win-win cooperation will be realized. However, at present, the direct destination sail has not been completely realized, and the return- within- one day convenient sea transportation has not been fully used. The result of this hinders the deeper development of labor-division and cooperation between the two places. This paper basing on the background of the cross-strait direct destination sail will make discussion on the further cooperation of port logistics industry in Fujian-Taiwan area.This paper adopts mainly the comparative analysis research approach, combining with quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, positive analysis and normative analysis. Thesis drawing lessons from past academic researches, investigate relevant theories of logistics, supply chain management, port logistics and regional division, and point out the different factor endowment of port logistics industry in the two places. If the Fujian and Taiwan can strengthen their mutual supplement with each other's advantages to engage in the port logistics industry cooperation and obtain the conditions needed to keep the advantage of the regional logistics competition from it, the two places will improve their welfare levels. On this basis, this paper explains the necessity to strengthen the port logistics industry cooperation of Fujian-Taiwan area. The paper also analyzes the possibility of cooperation from respects such as resource condition, economic condition, and environmental condition. From the current developing situation of the two places, the paper dissects the existing problems and put forward a strategic idea of cooperative development. Finally the paper gives suggestions of a deeper cooperation in the two places, in the hope of providing both a theory consulting and a policy recommendation for Fujian-Taiwan port logistics industry cooperation in the present situation.
