China is the largest country of producing and consuming wheat in the world. However Chinese wheat has been lack of competition so that China is a typical wheat-import country. The production and supply of wheat has influenced both on China's status in international trade as an important agriculture country and foodstuff supply security of a state. With the competitive edge theory and competition advantage theory as foundation, the author has made international comparison relating to production and international competition of wheat. Various factors influencing international competition of wheat are also presented in detail in this paper, including direct factors, indirect factors and environment factors. The author draw conclusion from the analysis that the important factors those influence international competition of Chinese wheat are not cost and price but non-cost-or-price factors such as quality, security, relating and assisting industry, market competition strategy of operator and government's support. T o improve international competition of wheat, some practical and feasible practices should be taken into practices.
