A Study On The Integration Of Regional Development Zones

Over the last decades, development zones in our country have made great contributions to economic development. However, there were some problems occurred during the period, for example, there were too many development zones in a region, which have developed the similar industry structure and lacked comparability. So it was necessary to integrate the development zones and make them develop in a whole.On basis of related theories, this paper analyzed the condition, motive force mechanism and principals of integration of development zones in an area and then took Changzhou development zones as an example. There were five parts in this paper:In the part of introduction, a brief framework was given on the significance, content and the research base. Secondly, the author has defined the concept of integration of development zones in a region and then had a review on related theories including labour district division of labor theory, the theory of regional economic growth pole and so on. Building on these, the conditions, motive force mechanism and principals of integration of development zones were put forwarded. Thirdly, the author introduced the regional developing background and then analyzed the SWOT of Changzhou development zones. Fourthly, the plan of integration of Changzhou development zones was given, including function organization integration, the growth pole fostering, the industry development guiding and industry layout of space. In the end, the author discussed some strategies of development zones integration, which included innovating management system, fostering the growth pole and building up a unified platform for conducting propaganda and inviting foreign enterprises and investments.
