Mao'idea Of New Socialist Rural Area Construction

After the mid of 1950s, Mao Zedong got his idea of new rural area construction in the process of emploring our own construction way. Mao's idea of new rural area construction refers to many aspects, but this article just concerns four parts, namely, the way and goal of rural area development, economic construction, political construction, cultural and social construction.His argument aenriched and developed Marxist ideas of peasant. Nowadays, we try to reach some conclusions about the law of experiences and lessons of new rural area construction, so as to provide us with some enlightenment for current situation.Recently ,the area of theory reseached Mao's idea from many aspects.In the direction of Msxism,the article studyed the result of the area of theory and analyzed from four parts.As far as the first part is concerned, Mao argued that rural area construction was bound to take socialist way, and it must be in the form of people's commune, with the final goal of peasants' common prosperity and comprehensive development.In the economic aspect, Mao worked out an overall strategy of rapid mechanization and modernization, and a rural area industrial policy based on agriculture and foodstuffs. What is more, in practice, he regarded revolution, production and the method of mass movement as the way to enhance rural economic development.As for political construction, Mao put forward the goal that aimed to transform the village into the front against revisionism, and class conflict was the right means to do it.Finally, Mao proposed that peasants should be given more ideological education, rural compulsory education and cultural education be prevailed, rural system of cooperative medical care and health protection be developed, and rural social security be perfected.Mao's idea of rural construction is precious spiritual wealth to us, which inspires us a lot in current new rural area construction. Firstly, we must preserve the fundamental role of agriculture, and place great emphases on issues concerning agriculture, countryside and farmers. Secondly, we should protect peasants' economic and political interests, and mobilize their enthusiasm. Thirdly, the new rural area construction has to conform to the basic condition of China. Finally, the construction ought to be earnest and down-to-earth and against fustian.
